Workstations
The only thing that matters when it comes to your work is whether
or not you can accomplish the tasks you need to. In today's
environment, the workstation is no longer a nice addition to your
workplace; it is now a powerful yet indispensable tool.
So what is important when considering this piece of equipment?
There are many answers to this question -- however, the most important
are ergonomics, reliability, upgradeability, and of course,
value.
- Digital flat panel monitors are a must.
They
reduce eye strain, eliminate radiation, vastly reduce power
consumption and preserve valuable desk space. While they are
still considerably more expensive that traditional CRT's it is well
worth the cost.
- Cordless keyboards and mice are helpful. The
elimination of wires in your working area is always beneficial.
However, keep in mind the added cost and nuisance of periodically replacing the
batteries.
- You get what you pay for. We provide full warranty
support for all the hardware we sell. If we need to service
any of our hardware, we end up losing money. Therefore we only
use parts that we have tested and found to be
reliable, yet not too costly.
- Cheaper machines often cannot be upgraded. The cost
of saving a little money when you purchase a new machine may be the
ability to upgrade that machine in the future. While most
people don't make major changes to their systems, some additional
RAM or a faster processor can often give your machine a new lease on
life.
- Don't buy a 4x4 if you're not going off-roading.
The employees at most businesses don't
create DVD movies or play intense games on their computers, so why
spend the extra money on those features if you are never going to
use them?
- The bottom line -- quality. You don't want to
sacrifice quality, nor, do you want to pay too much money. It
is our job to determine the best value for your money, and that is
what we have done for nearly 25 years.
